In 10DLC messaging, your delivery chain is only as strong as its weakest link. One of the most overlooked—but critical—components of that chain is the Direct Connect Aggregator (DCA). If you’re not thinking about your DCA strategy, you’re probably already behind.
DCAs are the direct pipes to the carriers. They’re responsible for vetting Campaigns and pushing your registered 10DLC traffic to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others. Every message runs through them. If a DCA stalls, your messaging stalls. Simple as that.
Here’s the usual setup: a software provider integrates with a Connectivity Partner (CNP) like Telgorithm. That CNP connects to one or more DCAs on your behalf.
But more and more software companies are telling us they’re fed up with their CNP. They feel left in the dark on compliance changes. Campaigns sit unapproved for days (sometimes weeks). Support is a black hole. So naturally, they think: “Let’s just go direct to the DCA.”
I understand that instinct. But here’s the truth: Integrating directly with a DCA is a heavy lift.
And even if your team pulls it off, you’re still tied to that one DCA. If they run into throughput limits, compliance changes, outages—your entire operation takes the hit.
To mitigate that risk, you need multithreading—the ability to route messages across multiple DCAs based on volume, performance, or traffic type. That’s how you build resiliency into your delivery stack.
But here’s where things get tricky: Not all DCAs are created equal. Some are easier to work with than others. Integrating with even one DCA takes time and resources. Doing it with two or three? That’s a full-time job.
And unless you have a very specific reason to manage those relationships yourself, why take that on?
We’ve already done the work. At Telgorithm, we maintain direct, production-grade connections with multiple Tier 1 DCAs. That means:
You don’t need to worry about stitching it all together — we’ve already done that.
Sure. If you’re at massive scale, and you have a full in-house telecom team, going direct to one or more DCAs might make sense long-term. But for 95% of software companies, it’s just not worth the tradeoffs.
Your short-term priorities should be:
That’s exactly what our multi-DCA infrastructure delivers.
If you’re tired of outages, delays, and silence from your messaging provider, it’s time to upgrade your foundation. We’ve got you covered. Let’s talk.
